Spooky Mule Recipe – The Halloween Moscow Mule
THE PERFECT MULE FOR HALLOWEEN PARTIES
Halloween is right around the corner, which means it’s the perfect time for us to share how to make our new go-to cocktail – the Spooky Mule! It’s so tasty, incredibly fitting for the season and can be made with just 6 ingredients:
- Simple syrup
- Activated charcoal
- Lime juice
- Ginger beer
- Angostura bitters
If you’re a cocktail-lover like us, we’ll bet you already have most of these ingredients on hand. And if you haven’t yet thought of using activated charcoal in your cocktails to give them a spooky hue, now’s the time to do so!
Activated charcoal is the latest superfood to be hitting the health food scene for a number of reasons, but perhaps the most important one to us imbibers is that adding it to our drinks can help combat hangovers. I mean, we’re all about drinking responsibly, but we’d be naïve to say that we never overdo it, especially on such festive occasions as Halloween.
Other health benefits of activated charcoal include whitening your teeth, alleviating gas and bloating and cleansing your digestive system. It’s a fantastic product to have on hand and is becoming much more widely available. You can buy high-quality activated charcoal here and have it on your doorstep in plenty of time to make a Spooky Mule or two on October 31!
The Spooky Mule itself comes together with just the quick turn of a cocktail shaker and an appropriately frosty copper mug. The activated charcoal gives the drink its jet-black hue while still allowing the traditional flavors of a Moscow Mule to shine through. To up the “spooky” factor even more, add some dry ice pellets to give it a smoky, eerie look and garnish with a festive black and white straw.
Read on for the recipe and, remember, all mules taste (and look) better when served in a 100% original copper mug!
